Punta Chame Tours Cerro Chame

INFO HERE

The closest and most accessible mountain top around Punta Chame is the 'Cerro de Chame' - our so-called 'Burning Mountain'. From Punta Chame, the sun sets behind this mountain chain and creates the most beautiful sunsets which we love so much.

The trail is approximately 560 meters above sea level (1837 feet) and you will have a breathtaking 360° view of the whole peninsula and its surroundings. On a clear day, you can see the mangroves of Chame Bay, Chame River, closeby islands, the beaches of Playa Caracol, Coronado Malibu and beyond.

Take a break at the top, enjoy the view and start dreaming. Our hike starts on a flat gravel track, protected by a canopy of teak trees and continues a bit steeper through a small jungle area where you can feel a bit of the tropical humidity. Out of the forest, the trail will get more rocky and narrow but the fresh breeze will give you some refreshment and the spectacular views will already give justice to the 'hard work'. Not so much longer and you will already reach the Chame Cross, which is the highest point and which offers a perfect place for a rest and a well-deserved snack.

Depending on your condition, the way up will take between 1.5-2.5 hours. If you have done some hiking before, this track should not be a problem for you.  We have no stress, so we can take our time and make sure that everyone makes it to the top.

Punta Chame Tours Anton Valley

INFO HERE

The Anton Valley is a 1.5-hour drive away from Punta Chame but is well worth a visit. The town is located inside a volcano crater and is surrounded by unique and lush vegetation. There are plenty of hiking and outdoor activities to stay busy for a few days – though we want to show you our personal favorites to get a good glimpse of the beauty of this area.

The day will start with one of the most popular things to do in the Anton Valley – ‘La India Dormida’ hike. This track will take you along the beautiful mountains of the crater, which is in the shape of a sleeping Indian woman. The ascent to the summit only takes between 45-60 minutes where you have a stunning view over the whole valley.

After that we need to refresh and either take you to a beautiful waterfall to take a swim or we can visit the thermal pools, which are heated by the volcanic activity. Fresh and rested we head back into town and have a stroll around the local art market. Here you can find local flowers, fruits and vegetables, souvenirs from local artists and many Panamanian specialties, which you need to try.

You will have some time to wander around the little town, grab something to eat, have a chat with the friendly locals or check out some other attractions.

There are a lot of different things to do in Anton Valley so if you have any other things you would like to do, we can personalize your trip.

Punta Chame Tours Chame Canyon

INFO HERE

The Chame Canyon is one of the most unique landscapes in the area and truly a wonder of mother nature. Hidden in the Altos del Maria, which is only a 45-60 minute drive from Punta Chame, you will find these incredible rock formations, which have been shaped by many years of erosion of the Chame River. It ranges for many hundred meters and is the perfect place to explore, relax and to refresh from the hot weather.

You can swim through the whole canyon - walk up the canyon, jump in and let the current take you. See the amazing rock walls from inside the river, take a rest in the little rock pools and shelves or even find some small caves and waterfalls. At the end of the canyon, have a picknick, lie in the sun and enjoy life out in nature.

Any time of the day is good to go since you can always use a refreshment in Panama. On the weekends it can be busy since this is a loved place by the locals so we recommend to chose a day during the week if you have time. On the way to the canyon we can stop at a small fruit market or shop to get your picnic for the day. Up to you, we can stay here 2-3 hours to explore the area and to enjoy the day.
